Martinengo & Partners Communication is an integrated Marketing Communication Agency based in Milan, the business and media centre of Italy. We specialise in tourism, destinations, aviation, institutions, financials, luxury hotels, technology, deluxe brands and iconic hotels for discerning travellers. Market Overview

According to a survey by Banca d’Italia, Italy welcomed nearly 91 million visitors in 2017, an increase of about 6% on 2016. Outbound travel achieved almost 64 million which was an increase of 2% on 2016.

Italians travel mainly in the third quarter of the year. The top destination is France with 8,725,000 visitors, followed by Germany, Spain and UK. The top destination for long haul travel is USA, followed by Asia, Africa and Oceania.

Hotels and holiday villages are still the preferred accommodation style followed by house rentals.

Most leisure travellers are aged between 35-44 years, followed by travellers aged between 45-64 years.  Travellers aged between 25 and 34 years represent 11% of the total number of leisure travellers.

Italian travellers prefer travelling abroad with their partner and without children (41.9%). The percentage of Italians travelling abroad as families with children is 25.3%. Only 8.1% of Italians travel abroad alone.

The main reason for travelling is for leisure, followed by business. Italy has more than 900 tour operators and more than 11,000 travel agencies.

Cinzia has more than 20 years experience in public relations, marketing and communication in the tourism sector, and through this work she has gained extensive knowledge of the travel industry. She has worked for a variety of tourism organisations including tourism boards, airlines, deluxe hotels and hotel chains.

With a degree in foreign languages and as CEO of the company, she actively supervises all Martinengo Communication projects with passion and experience.

Lorenzo Martinengo

Co-owner

With many years experience gained working in communications, Lorenzo is now Marketing and PR Manager. He works on many client accounts and has a natural ability to develop successful public relations and marketing projects.

As co-owner of the company, he works enthusiastically with our clients and understand their needs and aims. He knows how important details are in making a difference, and is committed to reaching beyond our clients expectations.
