TRAC Representations organised a roadshow for the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) in Kolkata on the 6th July 2017. The aim of this event was to highlight and promote Sri Lanka as a leading leisure and MICE destination among the Indian travel trade and media. Top-line professionals from the travel fraternity attended the event and had the opportunity to meet the Sri Lankan delegates.
The event successfully encouraged interaction between the SLTPB, travel trade and media, and included a networking lunch.
With good attendance from the Indian Travel Trade Association, TRAC were able to distribute contact lists, tourist maps and brochures to 161 prominent and potential travel trade members in Kolkata. This included all the A-listers from the Indian travel trade.
TRAC also organised an exclusive press conference which was attended by over 20 leading media publications from mainline, trade and electronic channels. This media interaction enhanced the roadshow and increased visibility of the destination among potential consumers.
The theme “India is the top source market for Sri Lanka” was highlighted by media and resulted in more than 30 articles produced in leading mainline newspapers, print and online portals. An exciting buzz was created nationally for the destination.
A total of 91 Indian travel companies, 20 media houses and 178 people participated in making the Sri Lanka Kolkata Roadshow a great success.
